Presidential Scholars, who are chosen with exacting care, are indeed worthy of the honor. They represent the finest intellectual, artistic, and leadership achievement in their class. Yet they are only representative of the top talent in any given graduation year. So many others are equally accomplished, even if they weren’t selected as high school seniors.
